Missing details setting the constraints for the stack view from the book - iOS 10 Programming for Beginners

I was reading the book “iOS 10 Programming for Beginners” to learn how to make iOS apps. I found the point 5 from the section “Using Stack Views” in Chapter 5 of the book. Does not explain the setting of constraint to 0 properly.

By default all the 4 values are 0 in the pin menu “Add New Constraints”. Where the Add Constraints button is not active (see reference image below).

Which will make the drop down menu not to align properly at the center of the navigation bar.

But when you select the red “I” shaped icons below the input labels. You will find the Add Constraints button activated. This was confusing for me; when i was reading the book.

After adding the constraints the alignment of the drop down menu is at the center of the navigation bar.
